Employee training and development with virtual training methods

Training and development are a crucial factor for the better development of the employees in any type of an organization (Xie, et al., 2021). Along with this, training and development has found new avenues in development. The idea of virtual employees has gained popularity as the virtual society and remote working have grown (Norris, et al., 2019). The major cause of this has been identified as the COVID 19 pandemic problem, which has led to limitations in the use of human movement. Additionally, firms struggled with personnel management, which is why using virtual employees has become a part of day-to-day operations (Vigersky, et al., 2021).

A program called employee training assists employees in acquiring specialized information or abilities to enhance performance in their existing positions. In contrast to an immediate work position, employee development is more comprehensive and places a greater emphasis on employee development and future performance.

The evaluation of employee performance and the growth of their talents and skills depend greatly on training and development initiatives (Shernoff, et al., 2020). This is a crucial reality that needs to be recognized. The use of greater monitoring in the required performances is crucial given the current state of virtual labor, which has been elevated to a higher degree.

There are several ways used in virtual training and development applications, which are carried out in remote or created settings (Hoedt, et al., 2017). It is crucial to have better approaches that meet training demands in order to manage the success of training needs with clear and improved results (Bennett, 2022).

The figure in below gives some of the methods that can be used in the understanding on virtual training and applying them as per the need is a significant application. Management should understand when to use these methods in making better influence (Chanana, 2021).

Advantages and disadvantages of the virtual training

There are advantages and disadvantages of the virtual training. Understanding both these can make significant outcomes in making better outcomes. following gives the advantages and disadvantages of the virtual training of the employees (Joshi, et al., 2021).

Courses offered online can provide specific educational pathways that are created to offer workers the skill development they have the greatest interest in and are likely to interact in workplace

There is lesser face to face connections among the employees and trainers

Customization of the specific needs and the development goals as per each employee is another application

Poor quality levels in training can be seen here and this is resulting poor quality outcomes

Allowing easy connections with the members even far away physically

There can be technological limitations in the work

Getting real-time feedbacks for the employee development

Monitoring the training process is another application and this is difficult in online training processes

Ongoing accesses to the employee learning facilities

There is a lesser communication quality in the virtual training process

 

Both positives and negatives should be identified in the process and it is highly needed to consider the outcomes related with these processes to make the proper training outcomes.


Conclusion 

Employee training and development is a very critical process toward the organization growth. Especially the virtual concept came with the new technology revolution and it it a massive hit compare to face to face discussion. Vitual process is veru convenience, cost effective and most important is that it is very convenience to gainer. Although it has the advantages and disadvantages the process is in practice all the organizations and are mostly appreciated process too.

Additionally, Flexibility, convenience, and cost effectiveness are a few advantages of virtual training.   2. Thank you for bringing up an important new issue that has received more thought, discussion, and experience since the Covid 19 pandemic. Practically speaking, it is clear that virtual training is the ideal method for staff development and training if we can reduce the drawbacks of this procedure. In order to make the results of the training process clear, I also believe that virtual training should be compatible with the Strick post evaluation procedure.

  3. Yes... virtual training can lead to less attentiveness and lack of physical connection between the trainer and trainee. but the upside is that it helps everyone to participate from around the world and saves effort and time in coordinating the presentation.

  5. After the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual training became more popular. In our organization, we have given many training sessions virtually to our employees. As a consulting and auditing organization, our company conducts many trainings remotely. I wrote a blog post on the topic of remote work and wanted to point out that virtual training also comes under remote work. Thanks for sharing such valuable contents.

  12. Great topic satheesh, it is also very much important to have the trainer to keep the trainees engaged in the session as it is not physical interaction but still by asking questions to discuss and providing quiz in end of the program would make the participants more involved.
